Art in 5 Days....Day 5 "A Tag Play House"

Art for 5 Days

 My friend Lynne tagged me in sharing my Art for 5 Days over on Facebook....so I decided to dig through my old blog post for some of my favorite art pieces I have created over the years....so I decided this would be awesome to share on my blog as well...what a great way to look back and as well as see how I have grown in my creative journey. To start I decided to make it a little fun and start with Day 5 first and count down to my favorite Day 1 of Art.....be sure to stop by over the next 5 days here on my blog.

Countdown Art for 5 Days:

"Day 5"

Back in February 19, 2011....I decided to take part in a challenge over on Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog  and it was so fun....enjoy reading this blog post here....the link has changed so follow this link above for their current challenges.

"A Tag" Challenge: " A Tag Play House"

 Wow this little "Tag" Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog sure stretched my creative mind, I started out making a simple tag, then taped together two, then three...using the new Graphic 45 papers "Once Upon a Springtime Collection".
 I also took to shipping tags and covered with papers, inks and created a floor for the walls to be placed on. I used a Hero Arts stamp for the two side gates, I used Tim Holtz "On The Edge-Picket Fence Die" to create the adorable little fence, with old book papers glued on and glimmer misted and painted white.
 To give it a garden bed along the  fence,  I used again Tim Holtz "Tattered Floral Die Cut" to create flowers and sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Jazz Blue, Frost and Coffee Shop) also used Distress inks Spun Sugar and Dried Marigold to color the flowers. Added gems and pearls with butterfly punch-Martha Stewart with inked edges. For all the distressing and aging I used Tim Holtz Distress inks (Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, and Dried Marigold).
 I cut out the little characters from one of the Graphic 45 papers, added inks and stickles. Finished off the little tag play house with some moss to give it that at home feel. Love it.
 This little paper lantern was made using the die cuts on the Graphic 45papers and taped together and hanging on a stem.
I used a piece of Grunge Paper and inked it with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo, added another die cut little title out and hung it off the picket fence. so cute. A little fairy next to the grunge paper key and butterfly hiding in the little garden along the fence.
I had a blast starting out with one thing on my mind was to create a simple tag with this new line of paper then my creative spirit flowed into this Tag Play House!!!

Thanks for stopping by today,
enjoy-create on....

Over on the Die~Namites Dies Blog we are hopping today
with me and Cathia.....to see more details...hop over to the blog,here

Every "Birthday Party" needs a banner...and how super easy to create
this adorable banner using

Here are the Die~Namites Dies I used to create this little birthday
banner and party embellishments.

Cuppy Candles
and
Party Animal

The "Cuppy Candles" die cuts so many images at once it makes
creating so fast and easy....
I created a banner, banner name tag holders and the birthday
invitation card with the "Party Animal"...

Close up of the "Cuppy Candles" number 8.

1.) I die cut many different
colors of paper.
 2.) then cut apart
 3.) adhere pieces back together.
4.) pop it up to give depth.
These die images would be great for any
birthday party....or for a simple birthday card...

Creating your own birthday party invites, banners, decoration are so
simple and fast with these dies....love it!

Die~Namites Birthday Blog Hop....With Susie Bentz and Me!!!!

Yes you have heard it right all week long over on the Die~Namites Dies Blog...
New BIRTHDAY Release!!

I received this adorable "Party Animal" Die

and I knew I had to create
an birthday invitation!

Party Animal
I started with a card base in white,
I die cut the Die~Namites "Party Animal" out in
Kraft, black, lagoon card stock and in pattern paper.
~~~
I did a paper piecing technique
 (just cut the pieces apart in the colors you want)
Use wet glue to adhere the pieces back in place
 on the Kraft die cut piece.
To help give depth to the die cut piece I used 3-D foam tape
between the two Party Animal Die cut...
Bottom layer that I adhere down to card front is black die cut.
3-D foam tape
Top layer is your paper pieced die cuts.
Also distressed the edges of die cut piece
 with distress ink in vintage photo...helps to give warmth to die cut.
**tip**
See the balloon in the photo above...see the cute little stars
and dots well those are the negative pieces that fall out
of the die cut pieces...oh yes I say everything when I die cut images out.
You never know if they can be used
 to adorn your projects!
I call this extra bonus from using your Die~Namites Dies.
~~~
Here is a peak at the inside the birthday invite
I just love how this card came out!

 A random winner will be chosen from eligible participants for a
$25 Gift Certificate to Die~Namites Dies.

*********************************************************************
Here is my take on this month's sketch & dare challenge....

I used one of my "favorite" Die~Namites Die!!
"Leafy Branch"
Leafy Branch
I decided I wanted to create a "Jumbo Tag"
 (I would love to create more jumbo tags to have on hand to give away).
I love having a basket full of tags, cards, etc to
hand out to my family and friends.

This month's dare challenge is to use "pink"!!

My favorite color-I knew the Graphic 45
"A Ladies Diary" paper collection was perfect...
I cut my tag out of chip board and covered with black card stock
along with the paper collection. Inked the edges with Distress ink-vintage photo.
Size of my jumbo tag is 4 x 8.
I began to fussy cut out the flowers and clocks
and knew the Die~Namites Die "Leafy Branch" was exactly
what the jumbo tag needed! I die cut three leafy branches
out of green card stock. I cut the die cut pieces apart to be
able to tuck in around the paper flowers, doily and paper collection.
Final touches I colored seam binding with
 Tattered Angels glimmer mist in
Wedding Pink (got the pink theme going)
added vintage mother of pearl buttons.

I just love how this jumbo tag came out...
Hope you join us by playing with your creative supplies
and
 using the Monthly Sketch & Dare Challenge, here!

Well our 2014 year was full of many hardships and blessings....so closing out 2014 with the Holiday's with our girls who were home from college break.
We did our tradition with Christmas Eve Candle Light Service at our church.

Livy (Olivia) got a pearl earrings.
