Happy Father's Day & Die-Namites "MAN WEEK"

Happy Father's Day!

First I want to say Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, best friend and amazing father!
Here he is (Lee) with our beautiful daughters (Emilee and Olivia).
Today was bittersweet for us specially  for Lee since
this father's day was spent with just us, no girls. Our girls are out west working
for college....but we did spend the day with family after church.

Now over on the Die-Namites Blog, this past Friday I shared with all
our peeps my take on this past weeks inspiration theme...
you can start with Lynne's blog post, click here, "MAN WEEK" !

The design team was challenge to create a manly card, layout, altered items...

(even though it's called a mom's nest-I used it with different colored card stock)
creating a manly father's love design!

To read about and see more pics on all the details about how I
created this cute Father's Day Card...jump over to the Die-Namites Blog post, HERE!

With the inspiration to create a manly creation!
I decided to create my card using this Month's Sketch & Dare Challenge!
You can find out more details, HERE!

Here is my card inspired by the Sketch & Color Dare!

I created a Happy Mother's Day Card, using
distress inks with water for a watercolor effect.

Butterfly Frenzy

I love the watercolor look with Distress Inks...I use my Kraft Mat to
rub the Distress Inks down onto the mat. Using my water brush picked up
the ink as my color....brushed on layers after layers creating depth.

I love the textures in my card between the card stock, die cut pieces,
watercolors in ink, with the burlap and Petaloo flowers.....colored in Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mists...right down to the tiny Liquid Pearls dots to add softness.

This will make a beautiful card for a mother's day gift.

Enjoy your start to the weekend, why not grab your Die-Namites Dies,
scrapbooking supplies  and create away...Join us!

Peggy Lee

Design Team Member Tonya Gibbs has

created an AMAZING sketch for us to work with!

April Showers bring May Flowers - so we thought it would be fun to have
this month's Dare to be a Handmade Flower.

Here is my take on May's Sketch Challenge & Dare for Die~Namites!!!
I knew from the sketch this would make a great idea for creating a
Mother's Day Card.

I knew right away I wanted to use Die~Namites Die "Mom's Nest" die
for my card...so I cut it apart.
I cut the momma bird and nest full of birdies
away from the branches and leaves.
Colored them with Distress Inks from Ranger, tucked
them in behind the handmade flower. Which
is also a Die~Namites Die "Elegant Flake" cut three times,
colored with Prima's chalk ink in Teal Damask.
I loved stacking them on top of another!!
To create the Dare "Handmade Flower" with a die image...so fun!
Here are the Dies I used for my card.

Moms Nest

and

Elegant Flake

It's a great way to get usage for stretching your die images,
cut them apart...and tuck in around the flower.

Added texture to the Mother bird and babies...
with some Distress Stickles in Rock Candy.
And a Liquid Pearls-Bisque for a little bird eye...love it.

I grabbed some new papers from Close To My Heart
called Skylark Paper Packets with the Skylark Assortment Embellishments.
As well as the stamp set called
A Mother's Love by CTMH.
Added a paper doily, cheese cloth and seam binding to the card....

Here are some close ups!!!
Enjoy the gazing upon the Die~Namites Dies!!!!
