Today is Day 3 on the Blog Hop and I am featured on the Marion Smith Designs Blog!!!
The Altered Wedding Cake...
Created with Garment District Paper Collection & Junque & Gems by Marion Smith Designs, complementing Petaloo Botanica Floral Collections.
This wedding cake screams Spring to me and is so delish good enough to eat!!!
I started with a 3 tier paper mache' boxes, painted them with gesso...
Picked out my favorite papers by Marion distressed the edges...for a shabby chic feel
I brushed on gesso over the distressed edges...adds softness!
Adhered the papers to the boxes.
Glued the boxes together to make the tier cake.
I fussy cut out the roses and images out of the papers.
I adhere them first and then started to tuck the beautiful flowers in to get a
beautiful cascade flow over the boxes.
Then came the fun park tucking in Marion's Junque & Gems through out
the wedding cake....I just love how this little metal butterfly is
nestled on top!!!
I had some already die cut pieces sitting on my table
I snipped them apart and tucked in here and there...
also gave a softness to the cake.
I am so addicted to these amazing Botanica flowers I want them in
every color....so soft and work so well with Marion's papers.
Thanks for stopping by today.
