Making Paper Flowers

The other day I was on Leah's Desktop Dictionary blog http://leahfung.typepad.com/ watching the newest video and Donna was sharing her new layered paper flowers that she Rocks at making. (I have already made her single flowers) Donna bumped up her creativity with layers of paper to make the most Beautiful paper flowers.

Here is my first attempt at the layer flowers. I love them...can't wait to make more and play with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist some more.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone, remember to be safe with the little ones, but enjoy and remember to make a memory.....Here is my boo banner I made yesterday morning while blogging, I like to keep busy so I jumped over to http://joli-paquet.blogspot.com and was inspired to create this cute and simple boo banner. Check this site out it's full of inspiration and creative art.

shipping tags, old book pages, sewed on sewing machine ( I couldn't find my black thread so I used white, then took a sharp and traced over the thread to make it black, it stands out better in black) stamped boo in black ink, old vintage lace sewed on, pipe cleaner for glitz and button. old lace trim to use for hanging.

Olivia showing off my banner. pic is kind of dark but she is sooo cute.
supplies:
shipping tags
old book pages
CTMH black ink
CTMH stamp (Rustic Alphabet)
thread
black sharpie
old trims, lace, button, pipe cleaners.

Blog Update

Wow October is half way through and what a busy month it has been, girls are busy with school, homework, soccer, officer meetings plus their friends and face book, plus church events. Life is full but blessed as I say it even though times are among us it's what you make of it that counts. Spending time with friends and family need to be the most important thing of all. Have you spent time with friends or family lately? Invite them over for some homemade apple crisp and a cup of coffee and sit and visit or play a game.
Our family love family movie nights we cook supper together watch a movie and just enjoy each others company. We have been doing that since Lee and I were first married. It started out as our date night then when the girls started to come along we made it family night in, and we really enjoy it. I know I will miss it when the girls are grown up and moved away, but I know I will put a family movie night party together with their families to join us. That it something to look forward to.
Last night I had my Close To My Heart Gathering at my home and we had a blast, ladies laughing, embossing powder flying!! My camera wasn't working so I didn't get any pictures. sorry. But we did have lots of fun....
This week is a slow week at the Baker home, soccer comes to a close and Lee is working his regular schedule and Olivia well is the same busy, but this mom can catch her breath, maybe sit and watch a girl chick flick (has my man calls them) and create something just for me, I have been very busy putting my kits together for my scrapbook frame workshop in November which is coming soon.
And by the way we had a snow storm last week lovely it didn't last but it was surely cold and beautiful, I made sure to stay home and enjoy it coming down in my studio room.

Here is our back yard last week our first snowstorm of 2009my new car looks cold in the snow

love this pic of our tree in our front side yard, beautiful!!

creative around the house

My daughter Olivia created these two cards, love the sun face. Great job...
Here are a couple of fall cards I made a little while ago, love the Orange stickles glitter glue from Tim Holtz. adds such a great touch of bling.

Here is a scarf I made this past weekend on Sunday I was very sick with a fever, and knitted this scarf while stuck of the couch. This scarf is made out of two skeins of yarn for under $2.00's what a deal. Now I want to make some more and more colors. This one is black hair yarn, and pink and Orange pom poms..

Blog Update

Wow I can't believe September is coming to an end in the morning. Where did the time go-oh I know in my gas tank, and check book. ahh I mean running kids from soccer practice and student counsel meetings, plus just regular shopping that has to be done.
Now fall is in bloom here in the East Coast and it's breath taking, I walked to my daughters school last night to meet her so we could walk home together, I truly enjoyed the art canvas that was in front of me, God's beauty showing me a peaceful simple life and breath in the fresh cool air and remember all He has given, blessed and taught me through the years.
With that I am getting prepared for the ladies workshops I will be teaching in November at our Women's Retreat. Putting kits together is hard work, but also very fun!!
Well it's time to drive Emilee to school and I have one sick girl staying home today. Plus I have a Quilt show to drive today so it will be a late night. Enjoy this wonderful day, snap a photo or two and make a memory.
