flakes update
Day 3 of January 2010 already and oh boy snow has fallen, we have already gotten about 14 inches and more is on the way!! I think I am ready for spring, not (I don't want to start mowing our lawns yet) or until we can buy a riding one. Since Christmas Eve life here has been kind of crazy, well with the Holiday of opening gifts, visiting families and friends. To wake up to a broken furnace on Christmas Day!! Thank God it was still under warranty but now it's a waiting game it's been one week and still no new furnace (the one we have is barely hanging on) "I think that is a song". Then yesterday we received some unpleasant news that I can't share with you but let me tell you my heart is crushed and I am praying. Lee and I know that God is faithful and He always provides even if it hurts. Praise Him for that.
Yesterday in my raw state, it was really easy to take down the Christmas decorations and start to clean up the house I needed something to get my mind off the bad news. Plus I have teenage daughters at home so life is always a hopping. Love my girls..
With the snow storm we are getting today our Church service was cancelled and it was a snow day at home as my girls jumped around let's watch movies, craft and then they went outside to play in the fluffy white wonderland, it is so pretty out..
Now with the house quiet I decided to clean up my studio/scrap room well I moved something and then everything came down I rearrange the whole room. Now it's really a mess!! But I can work with it and slowly get stuff put away. Sorry for the babbling just needed to write stuff out and blogging is such a great place to share our life's journey with others who live out theirs the same way One Day At A Time (that was a tv show) ahh I am dating myself.
Well with white flakes a flying and day 3 coming to a close (I am going to try to blog everyday in 2010) try is the big word it's day 3 and I am just now blogging for the first 3 days.
Happy New Year to all-and to remember to make a memory today!! Ours were the girls trying to clean off the cars with a broom (my daughter Olivia said you might be a red neck if you use your kitchen broom to clean off snow from your cars) yes honey you are....we took pics of them so I can't wait to scrapbook that layout.
evening,

GoodBye 2009-Happy New Year 2010!!
Bittersweet is all I can say of what 2009 was for me, struggles, pain, family and friends going through sickness, raising teenagers, going home to help take care of my mother which leaving mine behind that was truly hard for a mother, wife to do. With all the highs and lows 2009 was a good year a Season of Growing for me and learning new things, being creative and stretching my creative ability. Thank you to all who were a part in that, even you my blog friends with out your support and encouraging words of everyday comments can help to keep a person pressing forward. Thank You.....
So on with the "New Year" 2010
I created a little card for the main event: I made this card with the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month stamp set: True Friends (D1406) Twilight cardstock, ink., White cardstock, Notebook paper.

Creative Scraps scrappin the old year away and ringing in the New Year of 2010!!
this card was so fun to create-Lynne and I played with some cardboard and this is what I came up with a heart and flower(was a stamp) the circle flower was a circle punch. A little creativity and distress inks and stickles!! (Tim Holtz products) I will be making some Valentine Kits up and this will be one the cards!!! yummie eye candy!!

Welcome 2010!!!!!!!

Scrappin
Here is a new layout hot off the scrappin table!! "Sisters 2009" I love this photo of my two girls, Olivia and Emilee. No reason for this layout just to enjoy making a memory, and trying out some new creative ideas.
simple metal tag inked-flower is made from sheer ribbon folded in half and a running stitch through to pull up to give you any kind of look you want. I could of had many different looks, this simple ruffle one I loved. I used Glimmer Mist with a Tim Holtz mask-Oh my I love Tim's stuff!! Folded some paper, added some rubons and some chic embellishments. whoola...

Shabby Chic take on Fabric Roses

Shabby Chic/Tattered look:
Here is my take on making fabric roses: LOVE IT!! I made this muslin fabric rose necklace with Velvet ribbon. I have to say it was so simple thanks to Courtney Baker at http://courtbaker.blogspot.com I saw her video and have been making them since, (little secret, I was even making them in Church today with the bulletin paper)shh!! I wanted to learn how to make them for scrapbook layouts, then it struck me I make alot of stuff with muslin I love working with it-oh I could make a necklace. So here it is......
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Here is Olivia waiting to go to grammies for Christmas dinner-playing with her new toy Ipod Touch-so now that I know what they can do I want one!!!!! well really I would like the Iphone. So maybe for my birthday. we will see Next pic is Emilee showing off her gift from grammie Baker she made both the girl aprons and gave them really nice cookbooks.
Ok See Olivia's snowflake socks---ahhh, the girls were playing around and this is where Olivia ended up and I was at the dining room table creating so I couldn't resist.....
gingerbread house this one is Olivi'a (she was job shadowing at Emilee's school) and what a perfect day-Emilee's class made them. Emilee forgot hers at school. but they are cute...

late night creating/crafting trying to finish up some gifts. I have a studio/craft room but our dining room table is huge and the tv is in the same room, the girls and I watched movies and created together.....This Christmas went by way to fast for me, I didn't get to do the normal stuff I do (traditions) this year and the girls let me know it. I said next year I promise.........

Joy

Bringing you all some Christmas Joy!! this cute little card I made a while back, but I just love it!!
Made with Melissa Frances paper, Close To My Heart Rustic Stamps, inks. glitter, red stickles. I sewed the little tree on the card.
So much to finish up before Christmas Eve, little more shopping, I haven't even done any of my baking like I do. This Christmas has come so fast and money is short, we have been trying to make homemade gifts, plus we have cut way back on gifts.
Let's remember the Real reason for the Season: Jesus birth!!!!!

Last night was Olde Tyme Christmas in Lancaster, NH we go every year! We love it, except for the bad weather but a little rain or snow doesn't stop anyone, it's so fun to walk up and down main street and seeing all the window displays and the shops have free food and hot drinks for everyone, the bank gives out hot apple crisp, there is a craft fair, sleigh rides, Santa of course and so much more. We always have a fun time, I tried to get my girls to take pictures with Frosty the Snowman but they are getting to old for that, which made me really sad but I understood. Here are a few pics of out "Olde Tyme Christmas" enjoy:
