Marion Smith Designs Blog "Mini Album" Design Team Farewell

True Beauty Vintage Mini Album
The Marion Smith Designs Team has created a mini album farewell! Vintage is my middle name with a twist of shabby chic! I have been collecting many vintage inspired items such as mother of pearl buttons, lace, old book, photos, little bits & pieces....etc. I was flipping through the beautiful paper collections of Marion's (or I should say my scraps..lol). I created this shabby little lovely with Marion's papers (Never Grow Up, Motley, Garment District, Nirvana), along with her Junque & Gems, Doilies, resin flowers. I created the flowers (on cover) with her Bloom Tool, Dies and papers! I felt that the papers needed a vintage backdrop...so old book pages it was!! This mini is simple, vintage and busting with a shabby chic feel......simply love!
Hope you all enjoy flipping through the inspiration of "Something Old with Something New"!!!!

My Farewell Post on MSD Blog: "Never Grow Up" Scrapbook Layout

Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you my last post as a Creative Team Member for Marion Smith Designs Blog for 2013 & 2014...my time has been such a creative adventure! I have been extremely blessed to work along side these amazing team members...and I want to thank to Marion for this chance to create with her fabulous and beautiful collections!
For my creative idea I decided to create a scrapbook layout using Never Grow Up paper collection by MSD and I knew I wanted to use this photo of my daughter's new shoes....
This photo reminds me that we are never to young to dream and play in life. And the title of this paper collection works perfectly for my title...cause every girl loves her shoes (dressing up feeling pretty) as well as playing/creating with paper...it always makes me feel young at heart!
This was a fun layout to create, adding textures and layers! I fussy cut out the beautiful roses
out of one of the paper collections...tucked them around the picture.
What's really fun about Marion's paper collections is all the pieces and images you can fussy cut apart.
Which allows me to tuck little cut outs here and there,
I also used Marion's Junque & Gems and Resins pieces.
Here is a close up of the beautiful roses I cut out...those shoes make me smile!

Memories of my past year on MSD Creative Team.

Marion Smith Designs & Glue Dots Blog Hop

Welcome to our Marion Smith Designs & Glue Dots Blog Hop!!!!
I am sharing with you all how I created my 8 x 8 Scrapbook Layout
of my two Mad Tea Party Girls.
I used Marion's Mad Tea Party Paper Collection and her Junque & Gems.
My whole layout was adhered together with the amazing Glue Dots!
I have a picture tutorial to share with below...hope you enjoy.

My Mad Tea Party Girls....Love them!

Picture Tutorial
Glue Dots & Marion Smith Designs
Once I had all my papers, scraps prepared and ready.
I placed a glue dot down on the scrap paper that I tucked behind
the main layout paper sheet.

I fussy cut out images of the Mad Tea Party paper collection.
I used the 1 inch Glue Dots and Mini Glue Dots to adhere down all my paper
scraps and embellishments.
Also the Glue Dots come off so easy from their waxy paper.

Now placing Glue Dots can be tricky placing onto ribbons, so my trick
is that I remove the Glue Dot with a paper Pericer roll
it onto your ribbon bow or metal pieces.
I used 1 inch Glue Dot circle folded in on it self,
to adhere down this Marion Smith Designs
Junque & Gem and Resins pieces.
Now this was a fun  and easy trick, cause we all know how hard
it is to adhere down sequins.
Pick up your sequins place down onto the mini Glue Dot .
See how cool and fast this is....now use your paper Pericer to lift them
both off the waxy paper.

Thanks for stopping by,
Don't forget to hop along with Marion Smith Designs & Glue Dots!

Not To Shabby Motley Layout & Tutorial on MSD Blog

Yes I am holding back the tears as I write this blog post, today over on MSD Blog I am sharing this layout of my youngest daughter Emilee who is graduating High School next weekend...I knew I wanted to create a layout with the Motley paper collection by Marion Smith Designs.
It's so beautiful and I love the name of the background paper "Not To Shabby"!! And my daughter Emilee will be leaving the nest soon to adventure out on a Ministry School this fall.
And yes I am a very proud momma, it's bittersweet though cause it will be hard to let her go and grow!!
It seems that my girls grew up so fast, that's why I love scrapbooking, making journals to have to remember those precious moments in life...it's a blessing.
Close up!
Flower Tutorial
First die cut your flower petals out of fabric...
Singe the edges of each petals.
Hot glue each petal to a circle felt piece.
Keep layering until you get the depth of flower your desire.
Die cut out your leaves out of green fabric
Singe the edges of your leaves just like you did the petals.
Glue leaves to the back on the flower...
Add a Junque & Gem Pearl Rhinestone to the center.
FABULOUS
Here is the completed flower-perfect accent for you layouts.
I added texture with stencils and stucco and random stamping with Marion's stamps.
Added some of Marion's Junque & Gems and Resin pieces.
LOVE THEM
Don't forget to fussy cut out images from the paper collections to
create your own embellishments.

Here are some close ups of the layout, enjoy!
