Birthday Gift Wrap/Creative Inspiration

Here is a quick little photo of a birthday tag I created this morning for my friends birthday gift. I wrapped her gift in red tissue paper, tied a strip of torn muslin as the bow and added my tag. I used walnut stain ink and used some CTMH stamps and inks to created a primitive celebrate theme tag, since her birthday is in July I couldn't resist to use the 4th of July colors and tiny primitive heart wrapped in muslin tie. Speaks handmade and from the heart.

Next are some photos of my artwork that some of us gals created, CTMH inspired stamps, inks and embellishments. I just love this pocket/card gift bag we made.

new stamp set in the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book
My project was to teach the ladies how to make these beautiful rolled paper roses, and let's just say we were rolling on the floor with laughter, those ladies are a "hoot" to have a creative play day with.
Wow it's the end of July already, don't know where it all went, summer is full swing and life get pretty busy around our house. I am dreaming of old fashion slow down summer days with my family...

Card Inspiration

Another My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found" paper collection, for a inspiration for making everyday cards. This simple little card with my favorite rolled paper roses, love all the glitter that is one the papers. And the stamps are so fun to stamp and cut the image out and place a cute little flower brad embellishments in the center to add a wow factor.
Dig out your scraps and glue and create yourself a cute little card to share with someone special.

My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found" Layout

Recently I have purchased this awesome scrapbook paper line of My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found"!!
I fell in love with the soft beige, baby blue and cream colors, and all the bling of glitter. It made my heart just a flutter of emotions that said you must have me and create with me.

This scrapbook layout means the world to me, you see this cute little (big) boy "Tigger" was our special cat of ten years and last summer he went outside and wouldn't come in which was normal, but the next morning we couldn't find him, and days turn into weeks and months of us walking/driving around town calling his name, fliers and many tears we came to realize he was gone. Still today a year later we still get sick thinking of him missing and our hopes of driving home into the yard and seeing him on the picnic table waiting for us. But no, so when I was in my local scrapbook and saw this beautiful paper collection yes it's for a boy or baby collection which I don't have a boy I have girls, I knew I wanted to create a layout to place on our living room wall to remember Tigger, for his spirit to live on in our everyday life and memories.

He was such and handsome great cat and we miss and love you. Now to create some cards with the scraps I have left over...whoo love creating with My Mind's Eye papers.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge

SSS Challenge this week was super cool "Some Stitching-Faux or Otherwise.... Here is what I came up with a little mixed media collage!

first step:
sandwich a piece of felt between two pieces of muslin, sewed together on the sewing machine
second step:
I used glimmer mist to color the blank canvas: frost, coffee shop, riptide, olive vine, cranberry zing.
third step:
cut out a heart shape
fourth step:
created another muslin sandwich, sewed (quilted) again
five step:
glued down old scrabble book pages and tissue tape down; added more distress inks (walnut ink)  and glimmer mist

                                                                          rolled roses
I created these rolled roses in the same way glueing book pages down to a piece of muslin and then when dry cut out spirals and rolled them into roses added some color with glimmer mist, same with the leaves.
for the finishing touches I stamped some swirls and words "listen to your" heart..... stamped with black archival black ink.

I have to say Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog pushes me outside my comfort zone, love it won't you give it a try!!!!

Supplies:
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
