Fairy Wedding Cake Album

From my sneak peek from a few post back to completed Fairy Wedding Cake Album art piece. It all started with a couple small paper mache boxed I painted white with Claudine Hellmuth Studio paint. Covered the tops with white lace for the trims and (the covers are still able to be opened and tiny treasure to be placed inside). I used Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime" paper collection with Distress ink: Vintage Photo to give the piece a worn look.
As you can see here I used a empty ribbon roll for my base and the place to hook the muslin fabric wedding album, where I sewed on the pieces of Graphic 45 tags and embellished the fabric with buttons and butterflies. (first-let me say that I glimmer misted and tea died the muslin with the lace trims on it) again for the weathered worn look.
Here you can see that I used a piece of lace to use as the closure with a pearl button. This is how the album stays closed to form the bottom of the wedding cake.
I used Distress Stickles in Vintage photo again for the aged look and used Worn Lipstick and Turquoise blue to with the flowers and fairies shine.
The top is showcases four fairy queens that make up the topper with coffee filter flowers I created with Tattered Floral Die Cut and Distress inks: Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist: Jazz Blue, Frost and Coffee Shop) to color the coffee filter flowers.
Any project is beautiful when you use pearl trims and lace some that are truly vintage, I do love how this came out I had that piece of muslin laid aside for a cuff bracelet I am working on and said hey that would be cute as a rolled out album...and the creativity flowed.
I would say that I dug out my scraps and in my trash to create this one of a kind project. Look in your stash or in your trash and see what you can reuse to create a work of art.
Hope you enjoyed this little project, if you haven't picked up Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime" I would highly recommend you do and create to your hearts content. I really love this paper line.
Blessings
