Prima Altered Reed Diffuser
I was walking around our local Walmart just taking in all the home decor items for some inspiration and stumbled across the candle section. They had the cutest little glass jars of all sizes and shapes which sparked my creative mind to think hmmmm how could I alter this...my mind went right to "PRIMA"!!!! My local scrapbook store just got in the new Prima Printery paper collection and I knew that is what I wanted to use to create a altered home decor item....
supplies:
jar
scented oil
reeds
Prima goodness
My Minds Eye burlap trim
Vintage lace trim
and a touch of love...
I just love how it turned out...thinking this would make great Christmas Gifts for my friends and family.

Micro Mini Album Tutorial
My base for the micro mini that I created was using shipping tags (6 1/4 x 3) standard size.
Step 1. I scored shipping tag at top 1 inch, then flipped and scored at 3 1/2 inches (give or take-not all shipping tags measure the same).Step 2. Distress inks I used was (Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy), this help give the vintage feel and old warm feel. giggle love that feeling...
Step 3. Fun stuff: Using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist started out with Olive Vine & Brick, then added splashes of Coffee Shop!!!! you must try playing with glimmer it will cause the giggles to come out and show that inner child...it does in me...
Step 4. I tore up some old scrabble dictionary pages inked them with Distress inks, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy & Walnut Stain. This tip is from Marion Smith, be sure to check out her YouTube channel you will be amazed.
Step 5. Gluing, I used the best stuff Multi Medium Matte Glue by Claudine Hellmuth. if you haven't tried this glue it's a must have!!!!! It doesn't just glue it seals. Love that.
There you have it a simple and fun way to create a mini with supplies and scraps laying around your scrapping table. Next are pics of every page in the mini, I junked my mini up so much it doesn't like to close so this will be such a nice Christmas decoration this year sitting on a shelf with Christmas lights twinkling off the pages...ohhhhhhh

"Anything Goes" Challenge
Here is my 2nd Canvas art piece I have ever made, and I think it turned out OK. I created this for Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog Challenge this week it's all about "ANYTHING GOES", be sure to stop over at their blog to be inspired by the Design Teams artwork and join in for your chance to win some goodies.
Let me walk you through my canvas piece, first I painted it blue, then glued some cardstock and pattern paper that I ran through some texture fades, before gluing down I inked with distress inks over the raised images. Did some stamping and glimmer misting. Using some Die Cuts I created the dress form, thimble, birdcage, bird along with the flowers: distressed them with ink, stains, glimmer mist, perfect pearls mist, (one of my fav's is after you ink and spray while it's still wet crumple the paper in your hands, then ink the edges gives it a real vintage feel.
Added some seam binding which was cream, I colored it with glimmer mist and perfect pearl mist, again crumpled it up and heat set it to hold it's wrinkles and crinkles!!!! Added some flowers, bling and findings my art piece was complete.
Can't wait to play again be sure to check out their blog and the DT blogs as well (it's a great way to be inspired, full of ideas, great and wonderful tips and tricks for creating your art).
Grab some supplies and just play!!!!
Blessings,
Peggy Lee
