If you came here from Natassa Blazaki  you are hopping along....welcome!

Let's get started with my Fall project.... An Altered Paper Pumpkin Canvas!
I knew I wanted to create a paper pumpkin, I grabbed a couple of the
to create the paper pumpkins...I love the old wallpaper feel
and florals with hints of old text.

I first started with a hand drawn template onto chipboard, cut out a
base template and then the pumpkin template pieces.

Here is a closer look at the 7Gypsies Architextures papers cut out in
paper pieces. To help give depth to each piece I used Vintage Photo
in Distress Ink to distress the edges of the paper pieces.

I glued down the outer edges of the paper pumpkin pieces, and to
give depth to the pumpkin I popped up the middle piece to help
give pumpkin life and movement.

Now onto the canvas, I started with The Crafter's Workshop
White Gesso painted on a few layers to prime the canvas.
I do love how this Gesso goes on so smoothly!

I went into my scrap drawer I gathered up a few paper scraps of 7Gypsies, as well as Tissue Stock Kraft and burlap  by Canvas Corp
Using up your scraps and fiber leftovers to create
beautiful backgrounds for your canvas art is a fabulous way to add texture.

Next I grabbed a few stencils and TCW Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste
placing them in a few areas over the canvas. Allow to dry.

After the canvas dried completely I started to give the canvas layers in color using Tattered Angels glimmer mist is a ray of colors. Please forgive me I was so into painting the canvas I forgot to snap a photo to share with you....oops! Once the canvas was dry I lightly brushed over the stencil patterns with Gesso to add highlights. Then I used a charcoal pencil to give shadow and depth to the canvas and around the pumpkins after I adhered the pumpkins to the canvas. Here is a  close up paper pumpkins on the canvas. I hope you have enjoyed my Fall altered paper pumpkin canvas.
