4x4 Tiles of Artwork for Charity Drive: Reece's Rainbow

Here are my 4x4 Tiles of Vintage Inspired Artwork for the Charity Drive that Marion Smith is hosting. Anyone who wishes to lend a artful hand please visit Marion's blog at http://www.apieceofcraft.com/ for more details. Here is a short overview of what will take place, Marion has challenged us creative spirits to create 4x4 tile pieces with a Vintage Theme and feel. We are to send them to her and she and a creative team will put all the tiles together to form one big piece of ART!!!!  Depending on how many tiles maybe they can make a few pieces, then the piece will be sold and all the proceeds will go to Reece's Rainbow. How awesome is that we can't be there in person but our art will be there in heart. Thank you Marion for such a heartfelt cause.

Home Sweet Home "Stripes" Challenge

Yes again I joined along with Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog with their weekly challenge which this week was create something with "Stripes"!! I started out with creating a small wall hanging art and turned it into a home sweet home wall art, that will be proudly displayed in my living room, for I love how it turned out.
The based is cut out of black chipboard, and covered with one of my favorite paper lines Graphic 45 (paper collections I used: Baby 2 Bride-Baby Button Bingo, Botanicabell-Dragonfly Duet, Commuique-Shutter Speed, Renaissance Fair-Enlighted, Playtimes Past-Jack & Jill, G45 Collection-Die Cut Alphabet 2)

"Stripes" Tattered Floral Die Cuts and Cagedbird Die Cut (cage and bird). Studio 490-leaf stamp: (Ticket To Art) Archival Black Ink, along with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Brushed Cordury, Walnut Stain). I also used Distress Embossing Ink and Tarnished Gold embossing powder by Ranger to make the grunge paper key look weathered and old. Embellished the wall art with Tim  Holtz Idea-ology metals ( washers, brads, jump rings, foliage).
Added some Distress Stickles (Vintage Photo) to give the home a little weathered worn look and my Home Sweet Home peice of art is ready to be hung and admired.

Day 9-HomeSpun Holiday

Day 9 of 25 Days til Christmas HomeSpun Holiday!!! I must say I love getting and giving handmade heartfelt gifts...This little Bittersweet prim pillow and adorable prim heart ornament would be welcomed in a home for the Holiday Season for all to enjoy. The Stitchery was hand drawn and stitched by me. (I created this for my home a gift for me. shhhh it's good to create something you love and enjoy it).
The heart was so simple I just folded a piece of white paper in half and drew a half of a heart shape, cut it out and folded my material in half, pinning the paper heart still folded on the material and cut out... this way you save a step. Then I sewed and stuffed the pillow and heart, took some red felt two square shapes and cut out a spiral for the rolled flower, rolled and hot glued together, added some lace trim for the hanger. For the leaves I used Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die and hot glued onto the heart pillow and then glued the red rolled rose...and your done.

close up of the pillow front and back...I love to create primitive home decor items to admire around the home and to brighten some one's day.

Happy Homespun Holiday to you and your family & friends.

Holiday Headache!!!

So sorry I woke up this morning with a headache that wouldn't go away-it didn't stop me from creating today or doing a little shopping. But while I was out picking up trims and gifts, my headache got much worse. By the time I picked up my girls from school=my simple pain in the neck headache (there is to much to do for a headache this time of the year) turned into a major migraine (the bad kind sick to my tummy-lights a killing one) so off to bed I went.
So please come back in the morning and I will have a post of  Day 7 and Day 8 of Homespun Holiday-25 days til Christmas.

I am going to try to do a little creating tonight.

What I've been Doing!

Not much in order-but I have been away for awhile, so I thought I would share what I've been doing in my busy life as a mother, wife, daughter, and a creating chick.... Here is a pic of my mother's sunflowers up in Maine-I went home last week to help out with some family issues and to visit my family. My moms garden is pretty much picked over and cleaned out-but the sunflowers were still trying to hang on. Do you see the little visitors enjoying the nectar of the flower-I got pretty close to them, the little bees didn't seem to care about me. I had a nice visit with my family, here is my mother Ada, she had a few strokes about 6 years ago and her life is spent in a wheelchair and she enjoys living, always smiling and happy. She loves to sit and enjoy the birds that flock to her bird feeders and enjoys her sunflowers. She is a strong women and I admire her will to live and move on everyday (she only has use of one arm and one leg..). So proud of you mom.
While visiting my family, I brought my crafting supplies, I created some handmade cards for my mom to have...love the daisy flower ones....

God's beauty-here is me driving up to Maine (all I can say it's a long drive)!!!!

Oh Yes!! Can not forget that our baby Olivia got her driving license before I left-Whoo hooo she did it, we are so proud of her, and happy it's over, now she can drive for us!!!!! hahah
Our children grow up way to fast, if you have young ones enjoy them. Life moves fast.

My little Scrap Helper!!!!

Don't you just love my little scrappin helper...Her name is Sasha!!! I just love her, I placed my worktable next to the bay window in my room and the cats just love to lay on it...arrrr
These pics are bittersweet for me, see this cute girl has been sick for a few months and we just found out that she has all the signs for FEIL Lukema and possibly AIDS...very sick little girl.
My heart is so broken, I just love her she is my baby, I hold her like a baby all the time and she loves it but since her fever 103 lasting over a month she doesn't like to be held...ok have to stop the tears are flowing....

it looks like she doesn't like that placement of that flower...come on mom!!!!! lol

She is so weak and tired but what a love, she has filled this family with such love and blessing for the past year.....
