created an AMAZING sketch for us to work with!

April Showers bring May Flowers - so we thought it would be fun to have
this month's Dare to be a Handmade Flower.

Here is my take on May's Sketch Challenge & Dare for Die~Namites!!!
I knew from the sketch this would make a great idea for creating a
Mother's Day Card.

I knew right away I wanted to use Die~Namites Die "Mom's Nest" die
for my card...so I cut it apart.
I cut the momma bird and nest full of birdies
away from the branches and leaves.
Colored them with Distress Inks from Ranger, tucked
them in behind the handmade flower. Which
is also a Die~Namites Die "Elegant Flake" cut three times,
colored with Prima's chalk ink in Teal Damask.
I loved stacking them on top of another!!
To create the Dare "Handmade Flower" with a die image...so fun!
Here are the Dies I used for my card.

Moms Nest

and

Elegant Flake

It's a great way to get usage for stretching your die images,
cut them apart...and tuck in around the flower.

Added texture to the Mother bird and babies...
with some Distress Stickles in Rock Candy.
And a Liquid Pearls-Bisque for a little bird eye...love it.

I grabbed some new papers from Close To My Heart
called Skylark Paper Packets with the Skylark Assortment Embellishments.
As well as the stamp set called
A Mother's Love by CTMH.
Added a paper doily, cheese cloth and seam binding to the card....

Here are some close ups!!!
Enjoy the gazing upon the Die~Namites Dies!!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
 don't forget to play along!!

Creative Play Card with "Never Grow Up" by Peggy Lee

Hello everyone...it's Peggy Lee here sharing with you all,
my mixed media card over on the Marion Smith Designs Blog today!!
Every gal needs some creative play...
I used the "Never Grow Up" paper collections and stamps
The fun part of creative play...no rules...is that you can use up
scraps and bits & pieces that you have laying around your desk.
Like these gears I had cut from another projects,
that I inked up with Distress inks, gesso and a little stamping to give
more texture.
I was given these adorable Petaloo new burlap blossoms...oh my
so yummy to work with....I grabbed my Tattered Angels glimmer mist
adding two colors give some depth!
My favorite part of Marion's designs is the images you can cut out
and tuck into your projects...(which is a great way to stretch your papers).
I fussy cut out these tickets, distressed the edges...I also stamped on them
as well as splattered glimmer mist over them....
LOVE THIS GRUNGE LOOK!
Have you just sat down and grabbed a few paper supplies and just let lose?
It's very freeing to just have some creative play!
Go ahead and give it a try-grab some Marion Smith Designs papers, embellishments, stamps!
And Play-Be sure to share with us on Facebook!
Thanks for stopping by today!
hugs,
Peggy Lee

Artsy Addicts Blog-"Insta-Frame Magnets"

Morning today is my day over on the Artsy Addicts Blog, here.
"Insta-Frame Magnets"
I created these for a workshop I hosted last weekend...
Inspired by Heidi Swapp,
which I just LOVE her style!!
This first one is an ART in a frame magnet!!!
You could stamp anything inside the frame...holiday themes...or pretty art!
The second insta-frame magnet...is a Photo holder one...
We left one side open to slide a photo in!!
This is the one the ladies created and they sure did love it...
What's really awesome you could use this in a layout, in a frame to hang on wall...or
as is a magnet to adorn your fridge!!!
Just love making these...I have a few more to create some
scrapbook layouts!!! I will share when I have them finished...
Thanks so much to stopping by today,
hugs

How to take your Die~Namites Dies cut outs to the next level!!
Here are the Die~Namites Dies I used,
"Regal Heart"
Regal Heart
"Love Kite"
Love Kite
Step 1. take two die cuts
snip off the end of the heart die...(placing together makes
a new image...butterfly or flower).
Step 2. Cut card base at 6x6
Score at 3 inches and fold
I used Marion Smith Designs Garment District Paper Collection.
Step 3. Gesso the die cuts
a few times drying in between
Step 4. Adding Texture-brush multi-medium matte
on the die cut....then
Step 5. dump embossing enamel on top then shake off...
 Step 6. Heat set
 There you have it...yummie texture
Step 7. Stamp, gesso with stencil, distress edges of card..
add wood veneer piece down
cheese clothe, then add your textured die cut!
That is your base!!
Here is the end result....mixed media card...

"Love U" Altered Heart Card for the Marion Smith Designs Blog!!

Hello everyone, it's Peggy Lee here,
sharing with you a card over on the Marion Smith Designs Blog today...
I created I just love the Motley Paper Collection
by Marion, I also used her new stamps love them!!
I love the altered heart I created as a faux heart necklace....great embellishment!
Just love the Junque & Gem key charm...so cute
hanging off the chain.

I used a primitive heart Sizzix die out of chipboard and
out of the paper collection...adhered the papers to the chipboard hearts.
I added depth with pop dots.
I gave the hearts alot of texture with multi medium gel and
ultra thick embossing enamel.
Rolling back the edges of  the papers give great interest to the card...
great place to tuck in one of Marion's paper doilies, and Junque & Gem metals...
This card is so fabulous "if I do say so myself" I think it needs
a special frame to hang on my wall....

Thanks for stopping by today,
hugs

What I've been up too.....

I guess it's Monday....early early in the wee morning...
I thought I would start to change up my blog post a little bit, a little bit more personal! See when I started blogging way back in 2006, now hold on don't go looking for my oldie blog post...they are no where to be found...
some time ago I accidentally deleted my oldie blog and blog name...ugh
So that is why you won't find those years, years of memories and pics gone..
like that in a blink of an eye or should I say a click of a button.
So fast forward to today 4-14-2014
I knew I wanted to have a every day kind of record of memories for my girls and friends to look back upon and remember when....
See life has thrown me another curve, I've been fighting something within my body since Jan. of this year and now it's developed into my lungs...I have been very ill for the past few months...but the last few weeks have been the worst...I now have "allergic bronchitis.
I can here you know what is that....well I really don't know whatever I am allergic too has now settled into my lungs...
So with that weakness, I so needed to lift my spirits and I have had to do something...what can I change...my hair.
So I cut it all off I had really long hair for over a year now...I did it I got a cute spring hair cut and I LOVE it!
I have been doing daily post on face book which I love and hate at the same time. I have decided that posting more on my blog and only try to update status on face book.
Here is a handmade flower I created the other day using Marion Smith Designs new Bloom Impressions Dies-Peony Petal Die...LOVE
Along with her Junque & Gems!!

Isn't that flower center FABULOUS?
On Saturday was my day to post on the Marion Smith Designs Blog, here.
And this is the little Altered Easter Egg Decoration I made.
Do YOU see?
Yes the flower I created and a bunny from the dollar store I painted and crackled....see more details on the blog, here.
And look who came with many friends the other day
my little friend
Robin
makes me so happy
here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire the winter has been a long and cold one.
I love spring birthday right in front of my eyes...and seeing our neighbors come out and get out of the winter blues...amazing.
Lastly just a few weeks ago we got to attend our youngest daughter Emilee's concert for the North Country Concert, hand picked...
She is right in the middle of the photo..
LOVE YOU
EMILEE
Can you see her
oh I wonder what she is really thinking and saying
to herself...lol
Mom and her camera!!!
Well I suppose I should close this for now...I have so much to do in the morning or real morning when others awake.

My To Do List
-see family off lee to work, Emilee to school
Can't believe she is a senior and this is it only a few more months...and our oldest Olivia will be home shortly from college..we miss her a ton...LOVE HER
-work on Spring Fling projects
-mail out a goodie
-start to unpack will explain in another post
-spend a little time with my amazing Lord and Savior!
