Day 3 of Grateful, Thankful and Blessings...

So today is Sunday and I am so thankful and grateful that I get to spend the day in Church with my family...there is nothing like spending spiritual time in worship and serving God....
And a fun filled and blessed day celebrating Lee's mom's birthday with a thanksgiving dinner....oh boy over 20 people and tons of great food...tasty.
We missed having Olivia with us, hugs our girl.
Time to turn in I am to tired to do a long post....hoping for rest and creative day for the beginning of my week....

Day 2 of Grateful, Thankful and Blessings

Today is Day 2 of being grateful, thankful and having many blessings....and I was treated by my dear friend Cathy a of being blessed at a Sister's in Christ Worship day!!! First I slept in way pass my normal time, had some beautiful tasty coffee then heading out for a afternoon filled with worship.

Came home to a blessed little nap time, then a little trip to one of my favorite stores TJMaxx!! But someone special a little birthday gift, Lee and I grabbed some lovely slices of pizza! Now he is preparing for the Thanksgiving Birthday party we are having here Sunday evening supper for Lee's mothers birthday!

Received a blessed phone call from our daughter Olivia off working in Boston for Master's today...she hints for a box filled with home love to be sent to her this week...love her.

Last night we were thankful and blessed to drive up to Rumford, Maine to Light for the Lost Dinner and worship time that my hubby Lee and a few other men lead us...Blessed worship time!!!

Now it's time to create for a project that is due....

Day 1-Give Thanks

here I grabbed a $1 store find silver serving tray

that I painted flat black paint on the center

white paint on the edges

used sandpaper to rough up the edges to have

the silver shine through...

then!

The wonderful touch of 

Vintage Mother of Pearl

Buttons!!!

I hot glued them on around the center edge.

you know me love my buttons....

Handmade Chalkboard tray!!

I just love spending time with my family

I am just so thankful!!

Altered Book~Marion Smith Designs "Nirvana"

Last week Marion asked us the Design Team to challenge us to create an Altered Book!!! You can see the blog post here...

Here is my take on the Altered Book Challenge...

I used (Nirvana) Marion's new paper collection....

Here are some pics of the altered  book...hope you enjoy...

I first started painting the book with gesso..

glued tissue paper (wrinkled) down on the whole book.

Then started dripping Distress re-inker Pumice Stone all over the cover...

using a very wet paint brush helps the ink to run.

Once dried I started using some of my fav glimmer mist

 by Tattered Angels...in Graphite and Raven.

sealing with Claudine Hellmuth Studio

Multi-medium matte gel.

don't forget to aged the book pages as well...

Altered Cover

I took a few papers of the Nirvana collection and ran them through

an embossing folder.

Tore some pieces and inked the edges...glue them down.

Took some stucco/gesso mixture added some texture

with a Prima mask-damask.

splatted with more glimmer mist.

Went into my stash and found bits and pieces...

Petaloo flowers, Tim Holtz metal flowers and gear die cuts,

 Dusty Attics chipboard.

Cut out piece of the Nirvana papers to use as

 handmade chipboard embellishments.

Tim Holtz grungeboard letters...colored with glimmer mist..
